In the world of technology and computers and websites and social media … it can be said that there is always a continuing trend of advancement. That’s exactly why @ Mojo Web Solutions, we believe that continuing our education is incredibly important and crucial to the business world.

Last week, one of our employees attended something called a “Drupal Camp”. Huh? What is a Drupal Camp? Actually, what is Drupal?

Drupal is a framework that websites are built on. Several familiar sites are made with Drupal such as MTV United Kingdom, Sony Music, Penn State University, Popular Science & The White House. So, as you can see, it doesn’t matter the specification of the site (whether it’s security to robust functionality), Drupal is able to meet the need.

In addition to the break-out sessions of website development & maintenance, there was also lots of education available for social media integration with websites. Of course we took advantage of that! Mojo Web Solutions is committed to staying up with current trends and education so that we may offer our clients the best service available.

So now we’re into February … Valentine’s Day … the month of “love” … This is the PERFECT time to give a “shout-out” (if you will) to our clients. We dig them; we think they’re totally awesome!

One in particular that we’d thought we’d spotlight is
Tyson’s Watch & Jewelry Exchange.

They have come up with a really cool Valentine’s Day giveaway campaign and we wanted to share it! They are asking their Facebook followers to record a video of someone saying “Sparkle, Bling and Shiny Diamond Things” 5x fast and upload it to Tyson’s Facebook page. Then the follower is automatically entered to win a heart pendant valued at over $2000.00!! It’s actually hilarious to both watch the videos and to record one. Try it…

There are key elements when building your social media platform. All of these components mixed together serve kinda like a web environment. When the top of the web is touched, it affects the bottom of the web and it’s not exact which strand of the web is going to effectively touch all the other strands.

A. Always have a webpage. Webpage – location on the web where your information resides (address)

B. Set-up a Facebook profile. Facebook – social network site – launched 2004 – 07.10 500 million users – personal profile, Business Page – FB email – Alexa ranking 2

C. Create a Twitter account. Twitter – social networking & microblogging site – launched 2006 – 190 million users – SMS of the internet – 140 characters – Alexa ranking 9

D. Establish a LinkedIn profile. LinkedIn – professional network service – launched 2003 – 80 million users (spanning more than 200 countries & territories)- connections; prospect employees/employers == groups; build biz relationships w/alumni, industry relevant groups – Alexa ranking 22

E. Begin writing a blog. Blog – website or type of website that provides commentary/news/personal online diaries. (text, images, and links) viewers can leave comments; interactive site – est. 1997, took off 1999 – WordPress, Movable Type, Blogsmith, Typepad *Blogger & blogspot (Google)*

Other tools to effectively add to your components listed above – YouTube (videos) & Flickr (photo)

*It is key to not only implement these but continue to maintain them as well!*

Are You Ready? from Mojo Web Solutions on Vimeo.

If you are looking for “Maryland’s Award Winning Luxury Home Builder”, please check out our client, Koch Homes, TODAY!!

Why should you pay someone to do your content writing for you? You have a great vocabulary and, in high school, your complete mastery of all things grammatical landed you the title, “English Teacher’s Dream”!

That’s fantastic. Truly! Here’s the thing, though—content writing is a specialized, technical form of writing. Additionally, it takes a bit of an artistic flare on behalf of the writer. People read the web in a completely different way from that in which they read print. In order to effectively reach your desired audience, you need a writer that has the ability to:

  • Understand the principles of SEO (Search Engine Optimization)
  • Use the technical skills to be able to write for the Internet
  • Create the graceful balance between turning a phrase with simplicity and clarity, while also remembering that words are art
  • Maintain impeccable command of grammar, including spelling and punctuation

Your business is your livelihood and your passion. You want to express to your customer base why you can fulfill their needs better than anyone else. Great content writing is one of your most effective communication tools. Let Mojo bring your vision to life!

First & foremost, Happy 2012!

OK, now let’s get down to business. So, you own a company…maybe it’s huge; maybe it’s medium; maybe it’s small; maybe it’s family owned? Either way in all of these situations, your business needs a website! Why you might ask?

Well, here’s why:

  • Your website serves as your business card in an online search
  • Your website is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
  • Your website allows for your future clients to communicate with you
  • Your website adds credibility to your business

Next topic: let’s say you already have a website and it’s just plain ugly!
Here’s our suggestions to keep it pretty:

  • Your website should have fresh, new content
  • Your website should be marketed both online & offline
  • Your website should tie in with your social media marketing
  • Your website should include some type of blog
  • Your website should have concise, direct info about your company

Does all of this stuff make you nervous? Or you feel like you just don’t wanna deal with it? Let Mojo Web Solutions help! You don’t need to worry with it … that’s what we’re here for. Call us today @ 410-439-1994.
